Ceramic Faucets are Best in Class for a Reason

Is a ceramic disc sexy? Probably not. But, that doesn’t make it any less exciting in the world of plumbing as it is truly a masterpiece of form and function. As you know, faucet discs are necessary for turning the water on or off and mixing water to create the desired temperature. Older discs can be difficult to operate and may require frequent repairs if used in a high-traffic room, like a public bathroom or kitchen. Newer faucets, like the Single Handle Lavatory Faucet, will already have ceramic discs installed, but older faucets may require an upgrade if a different cartridge regulates the water flow. Ceramic discs are best in class because they are easy, simple, and durable and provide the longest-lasting, smoothest operation in faucets that exist.

Types of Faucet Discs

An older form of faucets uses compression cartridges, which involves screwing down a washer to manage water flow. This requires extra effort and is less reliable because it can cause leakage. The problem with compression cartridges is that they break down more easily due to overexertion.

A third form of faucet disc is the ball cartridge. These discs are often found in one-handle faucets, which involve a ball with different-sized gaps that mix the water based on the alignment of the ball.

Ceramic disc cartridges are the power steering for your faucet’s water flow. They are the newest and most reliable form of mixing and controlling water temperature.

Why Ceramic Outperforms All Other Materials

Durability and reliability are the best reasons to choose ceramic disc cartridges for your faucets. As in the Two Handle Lavatory Widespread Faucet, this form involves two ceramic discs that slide over each other to interrupt and continue water flow. One disc is stationary while the other slides over it with the handle of the faucet.

Ceramic discs work best because they offer little to no leakage and are user-friendly. They require minimal effort to operate, so if used frequently in public buildings or by children, they will not wear and tear. Installation (if replacing a faucet that does not already have ceramic discs) only requires about ten minutes. Simple and quick to install, ceramic disc cartridges will last you a lifetime, thus making ceramic discs the best in the game.
